BSCP606 relating to the BM Unit Eligible Exempt Supply Volumes for Exempt Supply Notification Agents

1. Reference is made to the Balancing and Settlement Code and, in particular, to the definition of “BSC Procedure” in Section X, Annex X-1 thereof.

2. This is BSC Procedure 606, Version 1.0 relating to the BM Unit Metered Volumes for Exempt Supply Notification Agents.

3. This BSC Procedure is effective from 27 February 2025.

4. This BSC Procedure has been approved by the BSC Panel or its relevant delegated Panel Committee(s).

1 Introduction

1.1 Purpose and Scope of the Procedure

This procedure defines the process by which the Settlement Administration Agent (SAA) receives BM Unit Metered data for Suppliers from the Exempt Supply Notification Agent (ESNA).

1.2 Main Users of the Procedure and their Responsibilities

This BSCP is to be used by ESNAs and the SAA.

This BSCP has been produced in accordance with the provisions of the Code. In the event of an inconsistency between the provisions of this BSCP and the Code, the provisions of the Code shall prevail.

2 Acronyms and Definitions

2.1 List of Acronyms

Any capitalised term that is not defined in this BSCP shall have the same meaning given to it as in the Code.

3 Interface and Timetable Information

BM Unit Eligible Exempt Supply Volumes

Where the ESNA has been appointed by the Licensed and exempt Supplier(s) to facilitate an exempt arrangement, the ESNA shall submit BM Unit Eligible Exempt Supply Volumes to the SAA.

Prior to Interim Information Volume Allocation Run (and subsequent Volume Allocation Runs if revised data provided as per step 3.1.1)

Calculate exempt supply volumes (in accordance with Supplier-provided details of the exempt supply arrangements, and consumption received from step 3.1.1)

The calculation must take into account any limits included in the Supplier-provided details e.g. limits on the amount of electricity an exempt supplier can supply in a Settlement Period to customers in total and/or Domestic Customers.

Aggregate and submit BM Unit Eligible Exempt Supply Volumes in a Supplier BM Unit relating to:

  • The customers who were supplied with the Eligible Exempt Supply Volume;

  • The generators who supplied the Eligible Exempt Supply Volume; and

  • The relevant Settlement Period.
